²⁷ Now Yeshua and His disciples went out to the villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?”

²⁸ They told Him, “John the Immerser; and others Elijah; but others, one of the prophets.”^[a]

²⁹ Then He asked them, “But who do you say that I am?”

Peter answered Him, “You are the Messiah!”
